The film showed have shown the epidemic more but since it's low budget it was bit limiting. Didn't like the ending. Am i the only one that laughed how she slamed that glass into that girl's head. Beginning in Haiti in the early sixties, Zombi Child" deals with voodoo and is one of the best and most poetic horror films in many a moon. It is obvious from the title and the setting that we are meant to think of a much earlier film with a similar setting but that would appear to be where the comparisons with Jacques Tourneur's "I Walked with a Zombie" ends for in the next scene we are in comtemporary France and a group of schoolgirls are being taught French history in a very white classroom.
What follows is a deliciously unsettling movie that manages to encompass the pains of teenage romance with a tale of the 'undead' as a metaphor for colonialism and it actually works. I can't think of too many examples in recent cinema where two opposing themes have been as beautifully united as they are here. In some ways it's closer to something like "The Neon Demon" or the recent remake of "Suspiria" than it is to Val Lewton. Here is a film with a creeping sense of dread, we've all seen films in which schoolgirls are not as sweet as they appear to be) and the grand guignol finale is as spooky as a good horror movie should be. It also confirms director Bertrand Bonello as one of the most exciting talents working anywhere today.

Porqué el cielo es azul?

La belleza del cielo no es más que el resultado de la interacción de la LUZ del Sol con la atmósfera. Una cantidad de humedad, relativamente pequeña, acompañada de partículas de polvo y de ceniza es suficiente para provocar en el cielo las múltiples manifestaciones de color.

Cuando se dan condiciones atmosféricas especiales, pueden aparecer fenómenos atmosféricos cromáticos como son el Arco Iris, los Círculos de Ulloa, las Coronas solares y lunares, los Halos, Falsos Soles y Falsas Lunas y otros más "raros" (Espejismos, el Rayo Verde, la Luz Sagrada, Auroras Polares, Fuegos de San Telmo...), que son fenómenos ópticos completamente explicables. Aquí nos ocuparemos sólo del fenómeno óptico más común que es el color del cielo, en sus variadas posibles manifestaciones.

El secreto del color azul del cielo esta relacionado con la composición de la luz solar -integrada por los distintos colores del arco iris- y con la humedad de la atmósfera. (El Sol es quien se encarga de procurar al aire su humedad. Con su calor, hace que parte del agua de la superficie terrestre se evapore. En corriente invisible pero incesante, la humedad se dirige hacia el cielo desde los océanos, mares, lagos y ríos; desde el suelo, las plantas y los cuerpos de los animales y del hombre).

El cielo azul

El color azul del cielo se debe a la dispersión Rayleigh. Cuando la luz del Sol atraviesa la atmósfera para llegar hasta nosotros, la mayor parte de la luz roja, anaranjada y amarilla (longitudes de onda largas) pasa sin ser casi afectada. Sin embargo, buena parte de la luz de longitudes de onda más cortas es dispersada por las moléculas gaseosas del aire. A cualquier parte del cielo que miremos, estaremos viendo algo de esa luz dispersada, que es azul, y por eso el cielo es de ese color. En cambio, la luz que nos llega directamente del Sol perdió parte de su color azul, por eso el Sol se ve amarillento.  

Al mirar hacia un punto más cercano al horizonte, el cielo se ve de un color azul más pálido. Esto se debe a que, para llegar hasta nosotros, la luz del cielo debe en este caso atravesar una mayor cantidad de aire, y por lo tanto vuelve a ser dispersada. La luz que nos llega del cielo cercano al horizonte habrá entonces perdido parte de su color azul y se verá pálida o blanquecina.

La luz en la atmósfera

En el vacío, la luz viaja en línea recta y sin nada que la perturbe. Al penetrar en la atmósfera, la luz puede incidir sobre un grano de polvo o en una molécula. En cada uno de estos casos pasan cosas distintas: Los granos de polvo y las gotitas de agua son de tamaño mucho mayor que la longitud de onda de la luz visible, por lo tanto actúan como ``espejos'' que reflejan la luz incidente en diferentes direcciones, sin cambiarle el color. La moléculas son más chicas que la longitud de onda de la luz visible. Cuando una onda luminosa choca con una molécula, ésta puede absorber la luz, y luego la emite en cualquier otra dirección. Este fenómeno se llama dispersión. Pero las moléculas son mucho más eficientes para dispersar la luz de longitud de onda corta (azul) que la luz de longitud de onda larga (rojo). Este proceso fue estudiado por el físico Lord John Rayleigh hacia 1870, por eso se lo conoce como ``dispersión Rayleigh''.
